Not Sure You Want to Take Summer Courses?

Here are the Top 10 Reasons to Catch Up, Keep Up or Get Ahead This Summer!

  • Taking summer courses can help you get ahead or even graduate early! If you’re behind in your schedule to graduate, taking summer classes can help you catch up.
  • Take summer general education classes so you'll be prepared and successful in your major courses in the fall.
  • Taking classes in the summer can help you have a lighter course load in the spring and fall while staying on track for your targeted graduation date. Not all courses are offered in all session lengths, so look for the classes you need early, as you begin to plan your schedule.
  • Summer courses are shorter than full-term classes, and you’ll still have free time before summer classes begin and after they finish.
  • Taking summer classes can help you graduate in less time than students who only take fall and spring courses.
  • Summer classes are often smaller than fall and spring classes. The smaller classes provide you with more access to your professor. Courses will be offered face-to-face, hybrid and online so pick your favorite format and schedule.
  • By taking summer classes, you can impress potential employers with your dedication to complete your degree (and your goals!) more quickly.
  • If you’re planning to attend grad school, you may have prerequisites that you must complete prior to enrollment. Summer classes allow you to complete the prerequisites without a lot of time commitment.
  • KSU summer classes tend to be smaller. Make friends online through classroom discussion boards or meet your classmates in person in your face-to-face courses.
  • KSU summer classes offer flexibility and convenience if you have a busy schedule. At KSU, you CAN balance school and work.
